The Big Read

The Big Read is a national literacy program that encourages reading. It is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with the Institute for Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. The NEA provides grants to community partners to participate in the program. They also create the reading guides and promotional materials for the titles. DC is one of 127 community partners selected to participate.
